Oak Ridge Weekday School is a faith-based licensed childcare facility with a five-star rating from the Division of Child Development. Our program offers full-time childcare for children ages six weeks to five years and an afterschool program that serves children at Oak Ridge, Stokesdale, and Summerfield Elementary Schools, as well as a summer camp for school aged children.
We currently have a waiting list in all age groups. To schedule a tour or be added to our waiting list please email Jamie.hatchell@oakridgemc.org .
Oak Ridge Methodist Church views the Weekday School as an extension of their Christian Education Program and believes each child enrolled deserves an opportunity for growth in all areas of life - physical, emotional, intellectual, social, and, most importantly, spiritual- as a continued, interrelated process. To achieve these goals, ORWS believes that the teaching methods and techniques used must be based on a proper understanding of child development and basic concepts of the Christian faith. ORWS offers appropriate play activities that are based on the child's individual needs, interests, and abilities. ORWS pledges that staff will constantly work to foster good attitudes in children through a positive example. Under the leadership of qualified individuals, classes will include a balance of biblical concepts, developmentally appropriate academic learning centers, creative artwork, music, outdoor play, conversations, story times, dramatic play, and group activities. The ORWS program is designed to partner with the family and to recognize that parents are the child's first and primary caregiver.
Our mission is to provide a Christ-centered learning environment for children to grow and flourish while sharing God’s love, building relationships, and developing minds. Our goal is to provide the highest quality education rooted in God’s truth where each child can stimulate their physical, intellectual, and emotional growth.
